Door County Sauces Recipes

You have your Door County Sauces...now what? Here are some recipes to try using your favorite Door County Sauces products. Whether it's a splash of Door County Cherry Passion Sauce or a dash of Death's Door Flaming Pepper Hot Sauce, Door County Sauces makes every meal taste better! Experiment and see what you like.

Special Salad

  • 1/2 Head of Lettuce
  • 1 Small Bunch of Endive
  • 1 c. Cherry Tomatoes, Halved
  • 1 Small Red Onion
  • 1/2 c. Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette
  • 1/2 c. Feta Cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 c. Vegetable Oil (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. Celery Salt
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

Break up lettuce and endive. Put into bowl; add cherry tomatoes, red onions and feta. In a separate bowl, mix vinaigrette, oil, celery salt and salt & pepper in. Pour vinaigrette over greens and toss.

 

Wilted Lettuce Salad

  • 2 Bunches of Lettuce
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 4 Slices of Bacon or 3 tsp. Bacos
  • 1/4 c. Green Onions
  • 1/2 tsp. Pepper
  • 1/4 c. Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette

Brown bacon and crumble. Add all ingredients to pan, except lettuce. Heat and pour over lettuce.

 

 

Fruit Salad

  • 1 12 oz. Cool Whip
  • 1 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1/3 c. Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette
  • 1 c. Walnuts
  • 1/4 c. Raspberries (optional)
  • 6 Apples (cut up)
  • 1/2 c. Raisins

Mix olive oil, Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette, Cool Whip and raspberries until thickened. Blend in raisins, walnuts and apples. Yield: One quart.

 

Steak Salad

  • 2 lbs. Round or Sirloin Steak
  • 1/3 c. Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette.
  • 1/2 tsp. Onion Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 can Sliced Mushrooms (4 1/2 oz.)
  • 1 medium Green Pepper (ringed)
  • 3/4 c. Olive Oil
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic (crushed)
  • Lettuce Cups & Cherry Tomatoes to Garnish

Broil or fry steak until medium and let cool. Cut into 3/8" strips, then into 1" pieces. Combine Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette and seasonings. Pour over meat and mushrooms. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours, spooning marinade over meat occasionally. Add green peppers and cherry tomatoes before serving.

 

 

Saute Sauce

  • butter
  • 2 tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette

Cook meat in butter until browned. Add to pan: Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette and sugar. Should thicken instantly. Delicious on any meat.

 

 

Cherry Wine Vinaigrette Chicken

  • 1 Whole Chicken (cut up)
  • 1 tsp. Dill Weed
  • 1/3 c. Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette
  • 1 tbsp. Rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Mrs. Dash
  • 1/2 tsp. Paprika

Place in crock pot when leaving for work. You may add potatoes, onions and carrots if desired. Dinner is ready when you come home!

 

Spicy Cherry Chicken

  • 4 tsp. Olive Oil
  • 5 tsp. Door County Sauces Cherry Wine Vinaigrette
  • 1/4 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Chicken Breasts (skinned)
  • 4 tsp. Lite Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 2 tbsp. Honey
  • 1/3 tsp. Black Pepper

Combine all ingredients and brush on chicken. Grill, broil or bake. Keep brushing marinade on throughout cooking process.
